How S&S Studios Supports Black Lives Matter

As a Black-owned business, S&S Studios holds strong support and solidarity with Black Lives Matter.

Unfortunately, the tragic death of George Floyd merely scratches the surface of injustice and discrimination that is rooted in our society. This incident has cast a light on the systemic racism that takes place in our education, employment, healthcare, and criminal justice systems. We refuse to let that light dim once more without change.

S&S Studios stands with those who choose to speak and fight against the oppression of Black communities. We support any movement that seeks to promote peace and justice for all. We remember George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, Eric Garner, and any Black life that has been lost or affected due to police brutality and racial injustice.

In addition, our business fully acknowledges and celebrates Juneteenth. Juneteenth commemorates June 19th, 1895, the date in which the last enslaved African-Americans in Galveston, Texas were given freedom. While this date is not officially recognized as a national holiday, our employees take this day off of work in order to celebrate the end of slavery and beginning of racial equality in our country. We believe that fighting to have Juneteenth federally recognized as a holiday is a small yet impactful step toward justice.

S&S Studios encourage you to share a resource, organization, or Black-owned business in a comment below. We will continue to amplify, uplift, and support our Black voices and communities.  We stand with you.
